Our Mission and Vision Statements

Our staff presented our 2021 Vision to the Advisory Council in January of 2021.  It’s an exciting time to be at The Summit as we journey together in spiritual growth and celebrate who we are as a church family!

MISSION: (WHO WE ARE)

Our church exists to BELONG to God and each other.

We BELIEVE in the unconditional love of Jesus for all.

We strive to BECOME known for our compassion and acceptance of people as they are.

BELONG / BELIEVE / BECOME

Our mission statement is a definition of WHO WE ARE.

VISION: (WHAT WE FEEL CALLED TO DO AT THIS PRESENT MOMENT)

Belong // Refresh relationships within our church family

We plan to return to meeting together in as many ways as possible, as soon as possible, while respecting each other and observing prudent safety guidelines.

Believe // Regathering on our walk towards spiritual growth

We plan to seek out innovative ways to regather on our walk towards spiritual growth, lifting up our brothers and sisters within our congregation and our community in the name of our Lord and Savior. We believe in the underlying story of the goodness of grace for all people. We strive to write our story into God’s story in our current world.

Become // Reimagine our role in society as people of faith

We plan to project positivity enabled by our faith in Jesus Christ as we rise up to overcome whatever obstacles we encounter either on a global scale or in our own backyards. We strive to embrace what is good in the world, using God’s vision of reconciliation and redemption.

VISION PATH

Belong // Refresh relationships within our church family

  • Virtual and in-person fellowships
  • Encourage connections within Deacon Family Groups

Believe // Regathering on our walk towards spiritual growth

  • Post-sermon challenges as appropriate
  • Virtual space for exploring contemplative practices to ease anxiety and focus faith

Become // Reimagine our role in society as people of faith

  • Offer conversations that help connect faith to culture and current events

Our vision is our rally cry for the year and beyond. This vision will be the focus for Advisory Council and each coordinator will aim to incorporate it into their purpose area (worship, fellowship, discipleship, outreach, ministry).
