In April 2010, The Summit purchased 15 acres of land to be used for future ministry needs of our church. We envision a place where we can effectively reach our community and our world with the good news of Jesus. We have established a site plan where we can worship in a beautiful location. Dills Cove will provide hiking, recreational and fellowship opportunities. We will have space for conferences, training and discipleship classes. We want to use this facility to meet the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of our congregation and those in our community.
In the summer of 2011, we cleared the property of trees, bushes and shrubs. We opened the entrance to create easier access and a better view for cars leaving the site. Our neighbors can also see us as they drive past our site.
In the fall of 2014, we excavated and gravelled a new road from the lower entrance. Gravel parking was provided for on-site use. Land was also prepared for future building.
The property was hydro-seeded in the spring of 2015. Also in 2015, we installed the septic system, well, etc. This allowed us to begin building a bathroom facility.
The pavilion and bathrooms were completed in summer of 2017.
